Sarah's need for technology which would enable her to function effectively in ministry and in her scholarly pursuits forced her to learn to use both mainstream and specialized products. She has often taught herself to use new products; and in 2002, her skills as a writer and an advanced user of the JAWS screen reader landed her a contract position as a technical writer and usability consultant with Freedom Scientific, Inc.. After leaving the position in late 2003, she continued to explore new technologies as well as maintain her current skills.
Since 2006, Sarah has devoted much of her energy to the development of mechanisms to display pointed Hebrew and polytonic Greek on braille displays with the JAWS screen reader. Her table for JAWS is available on her web site, She has assisted several seminary students in configuring their computers to display Hebrew and Greek.
